Twenty Years in Japan: A Photographic Journey
Over the past two decades, Japan has been both a subject and a muse in my photographic journey. Drawn first by curiosity, I returned again and again, compelled by the country’s unique interplay between deep-rooted tradition and cutting-edge modernity.
My lens has wandered from the hushed cedar trails of Nakasendo and the windswept peaks of the Japanese Alps to the neon-drenched alleyways of Tokyo and Osaka. I have hiked through misty forests where shrines sit quietly among moss-covered stones, and stood at urban crossings where thousands flow past each other in silent synchrony.
What fascinates me most is the balance — how Japan holds space for the spiritual and the technological, the fleeting and the eternal. From the rituals of everyday life to the vast seasonal rhythms of nature, Japan offers moments that are both intimate and monumental.
This body of work is not a catalogue of places, but a meditation on a country that continues to surprise and humble me. It reflects a long-standing engagement — a visual diary of observation, respect, and quiet wonder.
